Nestled among the trees on the south side of Big Pocono Mountain (aka Camelback Mountain), members and visitors of Pocono Evangelical Free Church enjoy the beauty painted by God’s hand as they join in fellowship and worship.   The congregation is small enough to know each other by name, yet large enough to include members from all ages and walks of life.  Carpenters, CPA’s, musicians, and programmers – all have an interest in becoming better Christians through the words of the Bible and the insightful teaching delivered by Pastor Jim Meyer.  Pocono Evangelical Free Church has been meeting in the Tannersville area since it began in January of 1996 and has been in its present location on 4 1/2 wooded acres since 1999.

Weekly services are held Sunday mornings at 11 AM with time for fellowship before and after. Visitors will find themselves very welcome, with invitations to join in meals and small group gatherings scheduled throughout the week. You will find a healthy mix of long time and new-comer Christians, all looking to strengthen their faith and discover ways to live it out in their daily lives.

Pocono Evangelical Free Church is part of EFCA – a group of over 1,500 churches across the United States and throughout the world. Evangelical Free Churches believe in the Bible, in God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), God the Holy Spirit, and in salvation from sin through the shed blood of Jesus Christ.

The pastor of the church is Dr. James C. Meyer. Pastor Jim and his wife Kathy live in nearby Martin’s Creek. Along with pastoring, Pastor Jim teaches at Philadelphia Biblical University as a faculty member in their Masters of Science in Christian Counseling program. He uses his deep understanding of the Scriptures to show how God’s love and Jesus’ presence can be found everywhere – and he does it in a way that is memorable, easy to understand, and fun to listen to.
